MES Alumni Association (MESAA) proudly launched the 6th edition of the MES Sports Festival (MESF) last Thursday, November 16th, commencing with the highly anticipated MESF Badminton Tournament. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation across various categories, including Singles, Doubles, and Mixed Doubles.
In the Men’s Singles category, Prince Cherian emerged victorious, with Fahad Bin Thabith securing the Runner-up position. The Women’s Singles category saw Shary Vincent as the winner, with Sherin Shams as the Runner-up. In Men’s Doubles, the dynamic duo of Benson Mathew and Fajer Yousef claimed the top spot, while Ranjith Radhakrishnan and Fahad Bin Thabith secured the Runner-up position. The Women’s Doubles winners were Dalia E Mathew and Mekha Abraham, with Muna Thabith and Samiha Sooppi as the Runner-up. The Mixed Doubles category crowned Shary Vincent and Fajer Yousef as winners, while Dalia E Mathew and Jithin Jose took the Runner-up position.
Spanning three exciting days, the MES Sports Festival culminated in the grand finals on Saturday, December 18th. Alumni ranging from the 1994 batch to the 2017 batch actively participated, showcasing the enduring spirit of MESAA.
Fazil Hameed, President of MESAA, emphasized, “These events are designed not only to promote sporting excellence but also to foster alumni engagement, encouraging cross-batch networking. Our aim is to forge new friendships while strengthening the bonds of old camaraderie.”
Tournament Chief Akbar Ali Khan expressed his appreciation for the organizing team and commented on the exceptional level of skill, talent, and sportsmanship at the tournament. Amanat Solanki, Vice President of MESAA, served as the Master of Ceremonies for the event and Samra Mahboob, General Secretary of MESAA, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks.
During the event, EP Abdulrahman, President of the Indian Sports Centre, and Saju James, Relationship Manager of City Exchange, expressed their heartfelt felicitations and appreciated the efforts taken by MES Alumni in conducting the tournament.
